[Synthetic Biology] Post doc opportunity for synthetic biologist interested in policy

Looking for a break from the lab?  A non-traditional post-doc opportunity?

The J. Craig Venter Institute, a not-for-profit genomic research institute dedicated to advances in human health and the environment, is currently seeking a Policy Analyst to join its Policy Center www.jcvi.org/policy-center<http://www.jcvi.org/policy-center>.  We are looking for an individual to join a research project exploring the growth potential of synthetic biology and genome engineering internationally.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have a master's degree or PhD (or equivalent) in a genomics-related scientific discipline, plus experience in policy and/or social science research.  Candidates must have the ability to write for a variety of audiences of varying technical backgrounds.  Policy research skills and familiarity with various aspects of biotechnology policy a must, e.g., regulatory policy and/or initiatives to encourage a bioeconomy.  Familiarity with the biotechnology policy landscape in multiple countries is highly desired.
